2023 Cause Studio Live with Kimberly O’Neil

(Aug 31 - Sept 2, 2023) HERitage Giving Fund was a proud Ambassador Sponsor for Cause Studio Live with Kimberly O’Neil at the Westin Galleria Dallas. Cause Studio Live was a 3-day educational conference for nonprofit startup leaders committed to using their voices to serve communities through culturally responsive programs, services, and operations. It was co-produced by Giving Blueprint Community Capacity Fund.

At the conference, HERitage members Cathryn McClellan Kelly and Charlondra Thompson served as volunteers. Co-founders, Dr. Froswa’ Booker-Drew and Akilah Wallace were honored with Cause Studio Live awards presented by Wells Fargo, and past HERitage grant recipient, Dania Carter of Heart of Courage received the Aenise Montegomery Community Legacy Award. HERitage member, Errika Flood-Moultrie competed in the Pitch Competition presented by Comerica Bank.

HERitage Giving Fund also sponsored an insightful panel discussion where experienced nonprofit professionals shared their expertise on funding strategies and securing financial support. The ALL HERitage member panel included:

  • Dania Carter, Founder/CEO, Heart of Courage

  • Tameka Y. Cass, Chief Development & Diversity Officer, Metrocare

  • Jamila Thomas, Senior Vice President, Big Brothers Big Sisters

  • Akilah Wallace, Founding Principal, Taylor Wallace - Social Impact Consulting (Moderator)

Other conference speakers included nationally-known business and nonprofit experts like, HERitage member, Leah Frazier of Think Three Media, Dr. Michele Josey, Victoria Burgess, Founder and Executive Business Coach of Kaptivate Inc., and Kasey Brown, CEO of Digital Kairos. Including conference emcee, Brandy Woods-Smith.

HERitage members were elated to help celebrate Kimberly O’Neil at her going away party and presented her with a small gesture of our appreciation for her years of leadership and service to North Texas.
